Dean
Marino demonstrated a strong commitment to CSU Stanislaus
and his colleagues were very positive about his contributions.
The best indication of how well Robert Marino performed
is the fact that we have requested he come back to serve
as the interim dean of another college, to which his
colleagues and the current interim dean responded quite
favorably.
Hamid Shirvani, Ph.D., President
California State University, Stanislaus
I
was at the AASCU conference in Boston last week and
spoke with several presidents about our anticipated
use of a Registry Interim Provost and they each spoke
very highly of your service and Interims.

Using
the Registry to hire Dr. David Dunlop is one of the
best decisions I ever made.…. In one year’s
time, Dr. Dunlop was able to complete an agenda for
the academic affairs area that had been stagnant for
the last four years… Dr.
Dunlop has made a difference and a contribution to Mitchell
College that will last beyond his presence at the College.
Thank you for helping Mitchell College have a productive
and successful academic year with Dr. Dunlop’s
solid experience and seasoned expertise on campus!

We
have enjoyed the highly professional relationship with
the Registry and Betty, in particular. She is a wonderfully
strong, dedicated and knowledgeable individual with
a great sense of humor! We were honored to have her
and cannot thank her enough for what she has accomplished
for us.
Florida Southern College
I
want to thank you and your staff for recommending individuals
like Dr. Ronald Champagne. He has made our lives as
trustees of the college much easier with his leadership
while at the college and we will be ever grateful for
his excellent service. He will leave the college a much
better place than when he arrived.

Bunker
Hill Community College honors Interim Chief Academic Officer Joan Connell with
the Board of Trustees Distinguished Service Award which will be presented
to her at commencement. Joan is receiving this award for organizing the
NEASC accreditation visit; for running the Mass Community Colleges annual Teaching
and Learning Conference (500+ from the 15 community colleges in Massachusetts);
and for general “outstanding” service
to the college. An exuberant alumni stated
at a large gathering that Scott was sent to them by God. Scott said No,
I was sent by the Registry!
Lees-McRae College, NC It
is good to hear from you! I have to tell you what a big hit Carol and Chris are…
and how well we are doing with their help. Our incoming class is on target and
we have hopes of exceeding expectations!

Midland Lutheran College honors Registry Member Dr. Steve Fritz with the The "Stephen
E. Fritz Excellence in Teaching Award" to be an annual endowed award
of $2,500, presented to a full-time faculty member who devotes him/herself to
students and encourages them to excel. Also, in a special ceremony, a
Green Mountain Sugar Maple Tree was planted on campus with a plaque recognizing
Steve and Pat Fritz's service to MLC. The entire campus is a Nebraska heritage
arboretum.
We
are thrilled with Ellen Hall, by the way. She is making a big impact already.
Central
Washington University I
haven’t had the chance to thank you for bringing us Helena, but would like
to do so today! Her work is truly remarkable. Several members of the community
and at least one Trustee have stopped me to say that they feel blessed to have
such a seasoned, inspiring leader at the helm. Montserrat College of Art, under
Helena’s leadership, will most certainly re-emerge better than before!
Director
of Human Resources
Montserrat College of Art Tom
is absolutely incredible – he is just what we needed. You’ve been
exceedingly helpful as well!

Inside Higher Education (2009)
after Interim
President Helena J. Sturnick Our
college was in a time of transition. Our president was leaving after 18 years
and the search for his successor was scheduled to begin. The College could not
afford to wait for the new president before making some important decisions in
a number of areas, knowing that some of the decisions would not be supported by
all.
John
F. George, MD Search Committee Chairman, Centenary College of Louisiana Change
is scary, change is difficult, so it was very valuable to have a professional
from the Registry advising us and leading us through this time of transition.
He helped us make the tough decisions
(2009) Central
Washington University President Gaudino named Registry
Interim Dr. Ellen Hall, Interim Vice President for University Relations,
Administrator of the Year. Hall has been at
the helm of the division for the past year. Steve
Leo, from a permanent search firm was asked what
he thought of the Registry for College and University Presidents…
They
are the gold standard of interim placements. They are the top firm in the country.
Finally,
I must express my appreciation the Registry. Thank you for your work with
us! Dr. Fritz and his wife, have been a wonderful blessing to the college,
its constituency, and the Fremont community. Blessings on your day!
